Overawe
Effect: Upon Entry, user lower the SpA of all adjacent foes by 1 stage. Fails if opponent has White Smoke or Clear Body (and Vast Will if that is approved). Activates upon gaining this ability. Fails if target is behind Substitute.
Outside of battle: If a Pokémon with Overawe leading the party, there is a 50% chance that a Pokémon that would be encountered will not appear if its level would be 5 levels or more below the leading Pokémon's.
Potential Users: Pyroar, Gallade, Lucario, Fakemon.
Basically Special Intimidate. What do you guys think?

I think this is exactly what they mean by "making abilities on the special side". This would be very helpful coming across many special sweepers and would turn the game around. Nice job Devoxys !

Thanks jaywadQuick Update-This ability will be given to mighty/noble Pokemon, that seem to emit an aura of power wherever they go. If you see them on the battlefield, you would think "oh shit we are gonna get rekt by this mon". They have a "Strong Presence" -Volcarona, Pyroar, Gallade, Lucario, etc.

This would be perfect for Lucario! Also, just a small minor question. Intimidate doesn't really do any effect outside of battle, so why does Strong Presence get to? Also there's items that can have the same effect that you have for this ability. I'm not really seeing the use for the in-game effect. Still a good idea

I recall intimidate lowering the encounter rate outside of battle to 66% so having this also lower encounter rate is understandable. I dont understand Volcorona and pyroar getting this but gallade and lucario seem really fit for this ability.

Oh, I had no idea intimidate works outside battle! Pyroar gets it because of his might being the king of all the lions out there, so it makes sense. Volcarona too, being a large fiery bug that is devastating

It shares this effect with Keen Eye. Volcarona is a huge fiery moth that looks like it radiates power (and it gets a lot of other special things too), Pyroar is the king of the lions. Also, thoughts about adding Arcanine?

I think volcorona is complete if it is getting a new ability this gen its going to be something that would enhance its sweeping capabilty rather than weakening the opponent but i can see your reasoning. As a general rule I dont think that something with intimidate should also get this ability as they are extremely similar in functionality. (Keep pyroar tho) But im saying no for Rk9

Yeah, I never really knew that intimidate works that way. As Leafeon said Arcanine wouldn't really work due to it having Intimidate

Arcanine having Intimidate and Strong Presence was the idea I had...

Title is supposed to be "Strong Presence" I assume? On the other hand, I've always wanted this ability to be a thing and I think Unnerve should have been this.
What about renaming it to "Overawe"?

Ace Yeah, I wanted to change the name. Overawe is better.

Nice ability that isn't broken (Unlike some abilities) and can still be countered by contrary and other abilities that boost stats in exchange for lowered stats like simple. Nice job

BTW, on Lucario this would replace either Inner Focus or Steadfast. Which one, is what I want to discuss. Also, QC ready. Snaquaza and Galom

I think it's a good idea to discuss in accepted abilities what they should replace. We should probably log that somewhere too.
Anyway, I feel like you should remove Volcarona since it seems like it's there to give it a better ability, while honestly Volcarona doesn't really have a thing of a "Strong Presence" or "Powerful Aura" and is just a powerful Pokemon.
After that 1/2 Approved

On Gallade this would become its 2nd ability (not HA). Ironically, Gallade has Steadfast, but its Mega has Inner Focus. Any thoughts on replacing Inner Focus on MGallade, the ability is pretty useless, and people have realized that its losing its viability pretty fast.
On Pyroar it would probably replace Rivalry, its very situational, and Unnerve/Moxie are better.
Quick Update -Removed Volcarona

I dislike the competitive mentality. I feel like Rivalry is quite a fitting ability for Pyroar, and even though it might end up being replaced, I dislike this logic. Same thing for Gallade, and especially Mega Gallade. I'd like to see some other reasoning.

Alright then, Mega Gallade keeps Inner Focus. Gallade still has a slot open, we can fit this ability in there.
As for Pyroar, the abilities it has fit Pyroar tbh. (I also forgot Rivalry's effect and though it was against the opposite gender).

If it was up to me I'd replace unnerve with this ability.

Hmm, while I have no reasoning anymore, I'd like to hear everyone's else's opinion about Pyroar. I'm adding a poll, but feel free to post your reasoning.

Why unnerve. Moxie's pretty useless since it's a special attacker. Getting rid of moxie would make this mon more useful than it is

I'd rather have moxie to boost Pyroar's lower attack stat than preventing my opponent from eating it's held berry. Remember a lot of Pyroars level up moves are physical, during in-game moxie would benefit it more.

The results are up... and Unnerve has been chosen. Snaquaza, Ace, and Galom, would you please check this?
