Shift/Set Battle Style would be a nice implementation in some gyms to make them a bit harder to defeat. I know there are other games that are coded so you can only enter the E4 when you turn on Set (there is a man in front of the e4 door who will only go away if you put set on) and it'll be a good way to improve the difficulty level a bit

Imo not one type since they wont be able to take full advantage of the weather. A sun team wont be nearly as good without chlorophyll

Duotype maybe. Sandstorm does benefit ground as well as rock (and some steel). Same goes with Sun with grass and fire types mainly benefiting from it.
I suppose the last of the e4 should have a duotype team maybe. Just an idea ;o

Champion like blue/N with a balanced team. They were both amazing plot twists in their games and I would love to see this again. I feel like pokemon Black and White pulled this off really well and so the champion could be a leader of the team. Making the champion someone who you meet before in the story before the battle would be very cool. On another note we could have the Champion be someone from another game that held significance?

Hmm I really want a balanced team from a Champion. It meant that the whole team had to be prepared rather than just certain members who could easily handle the champion in less than 10 turns :I. Maybe if the champion had items on each mon it would be slightly harder.

Snack? that is actually a good idea! So taking his team and making it the champions team. My only problem with that is that Teams in OU contain many legends and it wouldnt make sense for a champ to have more than one. Maybe we could take a mix from UU/OU viable pokes so the team isnt solely composed on legends.

That sound like a Great idea having leaders/admins as GL's and E4 or at least important characters in the game. It would provide some humor and maybe some inside jokes with their dialogue

What about a theme gym such as dual typing as the 8th gym. This would help the player prioritize having a balanced team going into the final 4

I am opposed to 5-6 mons at the start of the game. Yes it should build up to more Pokemon, but 6 Pokemon is pretty insane at the start of the game, when it's hard to have 3 Pokemon of a decent level. It should be like 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, then all elite four and champion 6. Ever play pokemon reborn? It's game where every gym leader has 6 pokemon, and the first gym leader specializes in electric types. THAT ALL KNOW EXPLOSION AND SONIC BOOM. Oh, and there's a level 20 cap at the beginning of the game so you can't over level yourself. It's fucking balls to the wall hard, and I only one that fight because I got lucky and got Mudkip with its hidden ability Damp as its ability... we shouldn't make the game that hard, but I'd be for having the first gym leader have 3+ pokemon.

The thing I have about gym battles or frontier battles being based off metas is the occasional movement of Pokemon. Like if you're basing a team off of a UU team and say they use Haxorus, then all of a sudden, Haxorus is OU. What would happen then? Or would it just be fine having one Poke in a higher/lower tier? (But then again, another Pokemon from the same team could advance or move down)

Sav, I think it would be fair to say as tiers shift Pokemon, there would be patches. But I think what we're going for here is like having a gym/frontier thing with Inheritance, Triples, VGC, etc...

I was thinking we could have gym leader specialize in OM and each gym has the player battle the gym leader in their OM. We could still keep monotype themes along with this idea. So here are my ideas for gyms. First Gym: Singles monotype Second Gym Doubles monotype Third Gym: Inverse monotype Fourth Gym: 1v1 Monotype Etc EDIT:This could be implemented in the battle frontier instead (If you find it more suitable as an after game thing) Wasnt this my idea @snackismybae ? LOL Anyway it is a really cool concept and I am glad that you like it ^_^. I feel like having them as a gym would make it insanely fun for the players that play other metas but may be super confusing for the people that dont. So to make it easier for someone to understand another meta we could have that guy (The one that stands inside the gym close to the door and tells you what type the gym is and what type it is weak to) We could have him explain the other meta and after that he could battle you in that other meta format. Also should the gym trainers battle in that format? (those trainers that use the same type as the GL and battle you while you complete the puzzle) Also would the puzzle be affected by meta you played or the town you battle in? (town is a better idea imo)

Leafeon, oh sorry about that lol. I like the idea of having the guy at the front of the gym explain what the meta is, then have a practice battle with you. I think the Trainers in the gym should also play in the meta. The puzzle of the gym could be influenced by the meta or the town. I feel like the town would be better and funner. Like the town based on the Studio could have a music puzzle, etc...
