There are a whole bunch of pokemon that wouldn't be able to obtain their hidden abilities using this method, either because the ability only exists as a hidden ability or because nothing else in its egg group has it.

We could either change it, or not care at all. Additionally, we can "release" fathers of the species by events (random Egg Ability Pokemon each day?)

Why couldn't hidden abilities and egg abilities work simultaneously? Hidden abilities could just be passed down yet still be obtained like previous hidden abilities...

Because we don't want Pokemon to get 20 abilities.

I think we get it. But the concern was that some hidden abilities would be impossible to obtain or something. Maybe I phrased my thing wrong. Egg Abilities should = Heritable Hidden Abilities.
Unless, people want egg abilities to function like egg moves go right ahead and talk about it lolol.

Egg abilities add too many move illegalities for Hidden Abilities for it to simply understood. The only way to arrange this without move illegalities would be to make the father have the Egg Ability and the Mother Have all of the Egg Moves.

I don't like the inheritable abilities idea. Having another ability will make some Pokemon way too powerful. It also has you guessing what ability out of the very, very many possible ability a Pokemon has. Keep it simple imo.

That feeling you get when you want to add more abilities but can't since you already have one posted :x

Not saying I agree with Egg Abilities, but why does everyone think they need to be able to inherit all. It's just 1... you don't have to guess. Also Egg Moves aren't that hard, just what the Pokemon which had the egg ability had is what you can have.

What about Wonder Guard? That is a topic worth talking about.

What about Wonder Guard? That is a topic worth talking about. Are you referring to ways to change Wonder Guard or a new type of Wonder Guard/something similar?

Since we are thinking of implementing a lot of different abilities to set things up on switch-in, it seems natural to introduce an ability countering these abilities. Also, legendaries can get Primordial Sea/Desolate Land conditions (For example: Shaymin land possibly could get Primordial Sea-type Grassy Terrain). Also, Talonflame is very overpowered. Think about any other kind of priority STAB we can give to existing mons. Ideas: -Priority on spread attacks -Stackable Priority -Priority if type disadvantage
