Chipped This ability is for rock-type Pokemon or Pokemon with a really hard body [e.g. Donphan or Torterra] If the Pokemon with this ability faints, it lets out a pointed stone on the other opponent's floor. This would be really useful for Pokemon that are extremely vulnerable to dying easily [such as lunatone, solrock, and lc and NFE Mons] and can be sent out to suicide and ruin the opponent's plans! So? How's that? Hope you guys like it Pokemon who learn it: Possible Fakemon [only]

I like an ability which automatically puts down a hazard, however I dislike how it works right now, as it seems a little "complex" since it does something which is completely different from what happens.
My idea would be that the Pokemon would be "chipped" when it faints, so it'd put SR / Spike on the field. (Your choice). This would be amazing for suicide leads!

I prefer it being one set hazard, not randomized since I don't see the flavor for that.

Ok then, now it's only just one pointed stone as if it was a stealth rock! How about now Snaquaza ?

Either go with stealth rocks on death, or one spike layer per hit taken

No, like snaq said, getting hit by a move and letting out a spike would have less flavor. I'm just gonna keep it as what it is now and see if Snaquaza accepts it. Sorry to disappoint

I like this ability. It would make a lot more Pokemon viable, while not breaking the game either. This would probably be given to a Pokemon that already has SR. Although you are setting up a powerful hazard, you are sacrificing a Pokemon/Team Slot for this. Great idea.

This is going to give golem some more use. Rock polish turn 1. Sturdy keeps it alive with weakness policy keeping alive. Sucker punch/earthquake/stone edge as attacks. If it were to have this ability, death would put out stealth rocks, making golem a viable team member. Also, i disagree with putting out a layer of spikes when hit messes with the flavor. If this pokemon is losing chunks of its body, when chipping it would make more sense to have those parts fly on the field when the pokemon is hit and not just when it feints.

Golem gets hit, golem doesn't have sturdy anymore, golem dies

You can't have Sturdy and Chipped at the same time. Also SR makes more sense. It is a rock type move, set after a rocky Pokemon faints. A bunch of spikes just doesn't make sense.

That exactly is what I mean. Since it's for rocky Pokemon and for really hard non-rock-types, SR would make sense as it is harder than spikes. Also herndonchad , your technique can still work! Instead of having sturdy, use a focus sash and continue on with the plan.

then you use swords dance and sucker punch, and the other moves are for slow Pokemon.

Accepted 1/2. Replied already before and you did what I wanted so no reason to reject.
Galom is more critical, mind you.

I really like the idea! This allows for a pokemon that can try sweeping/revenge killing and can set up rocks and allows the pokemon to be sacked easily. The only problem I see on this is explosion and how that might be very uncompetitive as a 250 power move + setting up rocks is amazing especially for a pokemon that serves very little purpose other than the ability (Like the ones you mentioned) and this might cause a problem in competitive play and focus sash+ Swords Dance/Weakness policy+spamming sucker punch would be completely outclassed. jaywad For the sucker punch thing I was saying that this might make golem absolutely obsolete.

I'm glad you liked my idea Leafeon Though lots of Pokemon can do the technique mentioned above, the Pokemon getting this ability may nto be getting sucker punch. The examples I gave don't really have the move, or they're too weak to sweep with it, so don't worry about it. Also, using explosion and self-destruct will NOT let out a SR on the floor [taking that he's exploding his entire self], this way it won't be too OP. @leafeon Also, I'm not sure if Golem can have this ability because he already has three abilitie: Sturdy-rock head-sand veil

To be honest Explosion is fairly mediocre. I don't see the problem. It's not really that bad imo.

People would just run max attack explosion with focus sash and getting up rocks while doing 30-100% is really great for pokemon that barely see usage and could be a huge threat for the lower tiers. (This happened a bit with Gallie-mega as this was a huge reason for it being banned from PU/NU. It was more because of the sheer power of explosion+glaciate did though.) It should be compatible with explosion because how little the attack stat of the pokemon you are giving it to. @hernonchad do you know how few ghosts there are in UU? Chandelure and thats it. Not only that but chandy gets bopped by a STAB rock slide if you can predict the switch. The pokemon isnt bad if it is walled by a certain type it just needs to find an environment where it can fit in. (Like stoutland)
