I think we should just have 8 gyms. Notice that most of my ideas will not be based on any in-game feature, but it could be something that the creator of the map could take care of. That said I think these would be cool: 1: Fighting-type. Decently exclusive type, but still one of the types that can feature some early-game Pokemon. Additionally all starters are fair against it, so no bias and early birds will be a help. 2: Electric-type. Another type which usually has a few available Pokemon at the start of the game. Water types have a slight disadvantage and Grass types a slight advantage, but at this point you should be able to cope with that. Would be a nice way to introduce a power plant or something like that. (Even though landmarks may not even be added yet). Also a special type as opposed to Fighting. 3: Normal-type. A pretty common type which could be in a big city or something. Pretty general. 4. Poison-type. Could either be in a big city or near a swamp. Bangladesh? 5. Steel-type. This could be higher up in a mountain and have us make a large travel to reach it, which also gives enough space for a plot in between, something which usually starts to get big around this point. 6. Dark-type. General type that could be wherever, could also be related to the villainous team if needed. 7. Water-type. We got enough Water and this could be anywhere near Water. Good late game type since a lot of variation and late-game usually has a lot of water transport. 8. Ground-type. Final type and could be in a lot of places: Underground, on highlands or in a desert. Either way it makes sense to be hard to travel to. Any opinions? I think these would cover everything pretty well. So Do You Guys Already Have Names For These Badges? Because If Not I Have A List Of Suggestions Right Here For You In Order. Grapple Badge Velocic Badge Zero Badge Venom Badge Ironworks Badge Eclipse or Sable Badge Marine Badge Seismic Badge

Should abuse like Ice Skates and such and the other boosts Icetype will get. 7. Water-type. We got enough Water and this could be anywhere near Water. Good late game type since a lot of variation and late-game usually has a lot of water transport. 8. Ground-type. Final type and could be in a lot of places: Underground, on highlands or in a desert. Suggested Badge Names Below In Order: Grapple Badge Velocic Badge Venom Badge Ironworks Badge Eclipse or Sable Badge Winter Badge Marine Badge Seismic Badge I have some cool gym leader names (if you don't have any yet.) These are all puns, though some are harder to get than others. Leeroy (Fighting) (Male) Ellie (Electric) (Female) Veneno (Posion) (Male) Tyrone (Steel) (Male) Bina (Dark) (Female) Neva (Ice) (Female) Vanni (Water) (Female) Terry (Ground) (Male) I remembered to have an equal number of boys and girls, even if you fight 3 girls in a row.

Just a few suggestions/comments on what our current gyms are:
1st Gym (Fighting): Could literally be a Pokemon Gym. We could have Pokemon working out. The town could have lots of parks and be fairly large in size (about as big as Hearthome in Platinum) 2nd Gym (Electric): Could really be anywhere. 3rd Gym (Poison): Could be located in our game's Castelia City. Lots of people, factories, and pollution. The gym could even be a factory. 4th Gym (Steel): Could really be anywhere, somewhere it doesn't fit too well. 5th Gym (Dark): A city overrun by crime. The gym leader is the source of the crime. Children, adults and teens are all doing bad things. This is because the gym leader is a role model/leader to the town.* 6th Gym (Ice): Would be located on a mountain range near the Mt. Everest of this game. Snows a lot, and the gym could be an out-door ski resort. (Key item: Skis o:) 7th Gym (Water): Located on Indus River or some other place with a lot of water. 8th Gym (Ground): Honestly anywhere.
*I watched a video that explained why there hasn't been a Dark type gym, and it's because Dark-types are usually "evil" and "play dirty". My idea for the Dark-type gym leader would be a corrupt gym leader that runs a shitty and filthy town.
Some other gyms that could relate to plot more than others: Bug-type Gym: The gym leader could be an expert on Temponae, and be used by the evil team to find out where it is. This could replace the Ground-type gym. Grass-type Gym: India has a lot of farmland, so this gym leader could live in a small farming town. His gym would be an outdoor gym where you navigate a corn maze. Could replace Electric-type gym or Ground-type gym. (Or Ground could be a farming town)
~~
As for names: Water-type Gym Leader: Marina Dark-type Gym Leader: Bina (Sin in Hindi)

As for names: Water-type Gym Leader: Marina Dark-type Gym Leader: Bina (Sin in Hindi) Not Marina. Pokemon Light Platinum has used that name. As for Bina, that's cool (It's still a girl, right? It has to be.) Edit: Because usually, crime controlled cities are run by men, and it'd be cool to have one that is a woman for once. Also, the equal gender rule.

don't format abuse please. And eh. Doesn't really matter too much if light platinum already used that name. A name is a name, and really all we should be concerned about is not having stuff the same as the original games.

Still, Marina sounds too cliché imo. How about something like Wassa, or a completely unrelated name similar to Wallace or Candice? Katrina seems like a good idea to me, though ofc idk about your thoughts.
