Since when was it okay to replace other existing abilities?

Since when was it okay to replace other existing abilities? If a) you provide good reasoning and b) the ability you want to replace is useless (for example Lucario has Inner Focus and Steadfast)

Inner Focus is useful in Doubles (so I hear). You can't ignore an ability just because you think it's useless. What about in-game? Since when did abilities need to be viable there? I'm pretty sure the whole point of Kyoru is more than just competitive. Truant may seem useless on Durant, but remember that replay where somebody managed to successfully combine Entrainment with Arena Trap? It was certainly useful in that situation. And yeah, for the most part, Truant is useless, but I still don't think it's fair to ignore abilities just because they're not Intimidates or Shadow Tags.

Its ultimately decided by the staff. You must, however, suggest what Pokemon to give it to, and if you want, which ability to replace. Also, I may have worded it wrong. If the ability you are making is more flavourful, you may want to replace an ability.

Tazonite, well, I'm not the one in charge, so go talk to the staff. I'm not going to argue further.
