This is an ability I had for mega steelix specifically, but it could work for fakemons based off of celestial bodies. Downforce summons the Gravity battle effect on switchin, like drizzle and drought. I think gravity is a very underused playstyle (it's kinda obvious why that is) so if somebody created a planet fakemon that had this ability it would both lessen the impact of RNG in the game as well as increase the usage of this playstyle. Part of this is because the flying type is honestly really good, and having the flying type vulnerable to both spikes and ground type moves in general would benefit the meta.
FYI: Gravity is a move that negates all ground immunites, and cancels moves that cause the user to be airborn (Bounce, Fly, Splash, Jump Kick, Hi Jump Kick, Magnet Rise), as well as decreases evasion by 2 stages
Somebody tell me if they think this is too good.

This is actually a pretty good ability and it will definitely help ground types and will make games more interesting. Idk if this is better or to debuff it slightly so it's like primordal sea and wears off when you switch out. I don't mind too much but this seems pretty nice.

I don't think it should wear off on switchout, because flying types can just avoid switching in on the user. I think a slight debuff might be good, but if drizzle isn't debuffed, neither should this. We should probably not make a stone that extends the turns though.

Drizzle is actually nerfed into upper tiers and same with drought. I don't mind too much but gravity actually boosts accuracy for certain moves and allow ground moves to be pretty powerful. Hmm a debuff, i don't know what it would be though. Reducing turns doesn't seem great since it wouldn't fit in with the weather and trick room

I don't think this should go to Mega-Steelix because it has a bigger niche with Sand Force.

I like this idea for a fat or planet Pokemon! Status like Gravity, Trick Room, and Terrains should have their own form of Drizzle, Drought, etc... Could definitely be abused by certain Pokemon though.

I don't think this should go to Mega-Steelix because it has a bigger niche with Sand Force. Mega Steelix has no niche with sand force. The only reason why it's ru is because it has sand force and not an ability like sand stream. The lack of a useful ability is what's holding it back, and having the ability to spam eq with steelix is amazing.

Let me rephrase this. In Other Metagames specifically, Steelix is one of the best Megas for sand teams in many metagames. I hate to see that change so I think this should go to Lunatone/Solrock (Mega?) with some sort of major buff.

give an auto gravity affect, to pokemon who not only do not get stab from ground moves, but have levitate as their current ability

When you think about it, "Gravity" is kinda Levitate. While they do not levitate, gravity causes them to fall to themselves, instead to the ground, effectively letting them levitate.
I know this isn't 100% correct scientifically, but good enough.
GUYS: I know this isn't totally correct and that there's a move in the game called Gravity which isn't related to this at all. Just showing that it can make sense. I've deleted off topic posts.

But they are gonna lose their ground immunity and they dont even get stab from ground moves. imo give it to Mega Steelix and Claydoll

Flying types Have always had a great niche in the metagame by having the immunity to the eversocommon move earthquake. Right now pokemon with levitate and the Flying type are blessed with a huge advantage and hold a huge presence in the current metagame and I think this ability is trying to balance that out. This will let earthquake hit everything without any worries about immunites. I think this would really make the metagame more innovative as gravity is such a weird and unused playstyle and if this ability were to exsist it would balance out the prevalence of flying and levitating pokemon and really help the different playstyles become more and more viable. This takes Gravity to a move almost never seen in competitive play to thrive, and many abilities that we are creating are trying to expand on playstyles that have arent seen in competitive as much and make them into something more usable and common. I really think that this ability is a shining example of introducing a new element to a failing playstyle. How would air balloon affect gravity? Also how would stacking immunities work? Ie: (Air balloon Rotom-fan)

I checked Bulbapedia. Gravity removes all ground immunities, so it will hit the massive threat to the meta-game that is Air Baloon Rotom-Fan. Gravity also cancels and prevents moves that cause the user to become airborne, including Bounce, Fly, Jump Kick, Hi Jump Kick, Magnet Rise and SPLASH. Yes you heard my right, you cannot use Splash while gravity is in affect .-. Gravity also lowers the evasion of all pokemon in the battle by 2. The more you know.
Aaaaaand Luxray already said that

Besides the poor name, how can this ability be improved? I think it's healthy for the meta, and basically asks for a planet based pokemon.

Im not sure about this but maybe giving it to Torterra as it has a sort of earthy feel with the tree on its back and this sheer amount of mass it has. DownForce isnt a terrible name either so this is has a pretty good chance as being accepted without a name change. Maybe listing the potential ability holders would increase the chance of this getting accepted.
