Breaking through protect is pretty over powered especially for a 120 power move. Torrent Burst is a pretty cool name (I was thinking about Tsunami but that would be more Special.) I think charging on the first turn would fit more as we have moves like that already and recharging is a hyper beam/Giga impact/roar of time/Ultimate move restricted and charging on the first turn is more common for moves like this (See Focus punch,Sky attack)

Just a few things, why doesn't it check accuracy and why break protect?

Ill change it up. Now that I think about it, that would be pretty OP.

Just a few things, why doesn't it check accuracy and why break protect? My reasoning for this may be off a bit since the recent changes, bt allow me to explain. Since many high power moves have "decent" accuracy, EG: 80% for Fire Blast (Correct me if I'm wrong). I wanted to make one that was just all around...Better. But, considering this, and in order to balance things out, I'd have to make it a signature move. But I'm trying to think of an adequate Pokemon for it at the moment.

How do they flinch? And why does it hurt all the opponents? This seems way too OP and would have to be a signature Move for a Pokemon. You can make it similar to Flare Blitz if you're worried about accuracy. Make it hurt 120 and do physical damage while hurting yourself 1/3

You can make it similar to Flare Blitz if you're worried about accuracy. Make it hurt 120 and do physical damage while hurting yourself 1/3 Well, first off, it doesn't flinch; it confuses. And, on that problem, I can make it 10% but I don't feel right just removing the chance altogether. And, it hurts all opponent because it's basically a giant whirlpool/wave being thrown to opposing Pokemon. Why wouldn't that hit all Pokemon? On the Flare Blitz comment, I'm not worried about accuracy per se, it's just that I needed a reason to make it a 2 turn move. I'll change its accuracy a bit, but not too much. And, I won't be changing it to hurting the user, that would be too much effects. Plus, it's a signature move, so there is not much point in that regardless. Thanks for the criticism.

The question is WHY it confuses the target? Torrents wouldn't be able to do so. And why does it make physical contact? You've described it as a "giant whirlpool/wave", so it should be a special move in that case. I agree on the thought that you wanted to make it special for your Pokemon, but this has too much complexity and strength added for one single move. Many moves seem more powerful than this and even they don't break protect. I feel like I can really like this ability But there has to be a few changes. I suggest making it kind of like a physical scald that can confuse the target with a 20% chance without contact or breaking protect [since you never liked my water-type flare blitz idea], or editing the description to let us know how this works as a move because some things don't make sense here. Sorry if I was too rough though . Any thoughts Galom Snaquaza ?

Sorry if I was too rough though . Any thoughts Galom Snaquaza ? Well, think of it this way: It's a giant wave, smacking into the opponent, disorienting them. Thus, they may become confused. This also justifies it being a physical move. This doesn't break through protect either. I didn't enjoy the thought of your Water-type Flare Blitz idea because, again, I'm trying to make this move unique. I might get around changing it later, but right now I think all the excessive changing will end up confusing me. Thanks for the criticism! (And,no, you weren't too rough )

jaywad think of it as a water sky attack but instead of flinching it confuses. Although i would like this to go too a much less loved type i think giving it to water would be good as many physical water types have to rely on other moves (waterfall) or other STAB's. Also keep this move away from feraligatr as this new toy to play with would make him absolutely devestating.

Ok then, maybe if I see the Pokemon with this move then it'll change my mind a bit. Description still needs changing. Maybe describe it above the way you described it to me: A giant wave smacking the opposing Pokemon, disorientating them. What you put above doesn't relate to this and would look like a better move if it was changed

However, they have a "Diverse" array of STAB moves to choose from, while Water is predominately special. I wanted to give a little diversity to the water movepool.

Ok, suppose somehow the steel types got this move. How would that make sense? It would work for water types since this has to do with a torrent. If you want, you can give it to someone like empoleon.
