I think all who contribute to the project should be NPCs, though the more important people should be NPCs with higher roles.
Maybe we could do something where the professor is battlable like Sycamore was- except this time, he's actually good.
I honestly don't mind linear regions. I know, I know, not everybody likes it, but as long as the experience is good and I'm having fun while traveling the path the game sets for me- I don't mind. If we're talking about linear here, I think we could go for a Kanto approach in terms of how free you were (except when you couldn't walk around some drunk old guy). Also, the region's design would also be creative instead of grass, water, caves.
And please don't put in the anime characters like xatuappraisal suggested. Just... don't.
And I saw somebody pick up the legendaries being focused on space and time. If that was correct, then it needs to be changed. Like... it Needs to be changed. Dialgia and Palkia are Time and Space respectively.
I also remember an idea where the League's building is based on the Taj Mahal.
(Also, I wanted an Australian region D: ) <Just me nitpicking.

Umm here are my ideas, sorry if many have been said already.
I think firstly, that all of the room auth in Kyoro room should get an NPC character, with a team full of Pokemon of their choice, they are hidden around the region, a bit like the Seven Sages from B/W except maybe not post game, though it could be. For every one of these room auth you defeat, they give you their favourite fakemon.
OR you could make the Taj Mahal into a battle tower, where you go through with a team of 6 Pokemon, and you cannot heal your Pokemon until the end of the floor, on floor 1 is the room voices, and once you defeat all them it says, "____ was promoted to room voice!" Then you can heal and move on to drivers, who are tougher, or leave and take on the drivers another time, and so on until you defeat the room owners, where you get a special reward like a fakemon or a cool new item.
I think the game should start at a ceremony where the Main character is finally 15 years old (or something along those lines) and is finally old enough to get his own Pokemon. His dad (for a change) takes him into the back garden (A place he was never allowed to go before) and is shown the 3 starter Pokemon. The player then picks his Pokemon. S/he (I just realised you would need a choice of gender, ah well that can squeeze in somewhere) thanks his/her dad (yes the character should actually talk this game) and goes outside where S/he is seen by the school bully (same gender as players character) the School bully insults the player and talks about how he is going to become a Pokemon Master, the main character then gets annoyed and challenges the bully to a battle, however, the Bully happens to have an evolved version of the starter with a type advantage against yours, you lose and then swear you will be a Pokemon master before him, you also get a friend who is weak against your starter type and is same level.

Presenting my idea...
Pokemon FatePlot in a nutshell: You begin your journey at a trainer school where the premise of the world is established and you gain your starter. You learn that in this region, they have been raided over and over again by foes from the (direction) so Gym Leaders have pivoted into more of a protectorate role. Training others and leading a force to protect their town and neighboring villages from these raiders. Sometime during this training you make a few friends who can become notable characters later on. After doing something notable, you get chosen by the 1st gym leader of (type) to train under them. So you move across the nation to a place opposite of the direction the raiders are entering from. From there, you capture a pokemon of the same type as the gym leader and take on a few challengers or do other tasks until you get to the point where you battle the Gym Leader as a friendly challenge. Jokingly, they give you a badge and then tell you to go to a nearby cave. There at the very bottom you run into your Older Brother, one of the Nations Elite Four. There he laments about how peaceful your area is and how he wishes everywhere could be like this. He also mentions that beyond the rock wall ahead of them is supposedly a powerful pokemon. However for some reason the drawing on the cave wall seems somewhat different than before. From there you go back to the city and find it destroyed by Temponae who kills the gym leader and tries to kill you but gets stopped by the E4. From there you spot several goons, chasing them you learn they are some of the raiders. This culminates in finding a orders note, detailing for the goons to "Make sure the attack commenced like it was supposed to". From there you look for clues in the next town and run into a new girl, looking for a Professor. She (follows?) you around for a bit of the game as a friend. *at this point, I don't have anything 'solid' and this is theoretical* You then go around to different towns collecting the badges and trying to find out more about that pokemon and the raiders. Eventually you are introduced to a Cult like organization that wishes to stop pokemon violence and is against the raiders. Eventually you learn that the pokemon you saw in the first gym town is the pokemon of creation, part of the Fate Trio (A pokemon of Creation, A pokemon of Observance/Perservation and a pokemon of destruction.) Temponae serves as the pokemon of Creation and was awakened because the team of raiders is "trying" to awaken the pokemon of destruction. The raiders are being manipulated by the cult to think that the pokemon would allow them to take control of the whole world. When in reality, the raiders are being pawns for the cult to summon the pokemon of destruction to destroy the strings of Fate and end the universe. Sensing this, Temponae awakens from it's chamber and seeks to reclaim it's power by consuming the fate threads it has produced. Furthermore, the Observation pokemon also awakens and takes the form of a young girl (the one you meet after the 1st gym town). (Based on your personal choices in the game, she will make choices later on for the fate of the world?). Key Plot Players:
Temponae - Is trying to save the world from destruction by Rudrak. Rudrak - (based from the legend idea by DinaIsha) the pokemon of destruction (or alternatively, pokemon of entropy who balances the world). TBD name - Pokemon of Observation, watches the world to find out if it's worth saving. ((Will be updated further...)) Some optional things for the plot that would be great to hear feedback on: Named character/vs generic: Is the main character a more or less silent fellow like in previous main story games? Or is it an actual character like in Gale of Darkness or Colosseum. PG / PG 13ish: While it's possible to dumb down this plot into PG. Personally I do feel like it would take away some of the narrative, though it's up for discussion.

I think character should talk, and piss, and eat, and sleep I'm tired of all these people with powers that stop them from getting tired or hungry and never need the bathroom that can only say Yes, or No

Hey guys, for the purposes of moving along. Let's not randomly shitpost about very random idea's.
Right now, to get this done. Let's try to talk about an actual plot being proposed, or propose your own. This way we can actually get something made instead of meandering around for a page and a half with nothing to show for.

Problem is, that no one is even trying to build on each others ideas. We have like three solid ideas we can do that i saw in this thread and no one is really acknowledging (i'm not saying that hasn't happened) but it feels like people are either criticizing the ideas of others or changing the ideas to their own liking. Also, there is no poll or and solid path that we are taking for this game. Everyone is focusing on creating pokemon/abilities when this should be the priority. Like I said to ace like a month-ish ago, without a story base soon. This game will crumble fast. Now, i don't want to rush, but we really need to figure this out within the next month (due to summer and class starting again) because it seems that a lot of people are slowly losing interest in this whole game idea.

Suggestion: Have a side quest which talks about a war forthcoming, like a psychic pokemon forsees it and you have to try and prevent it by happening but by doing so, you release a legendary or advanced pokemon that tries to destroy the world, and maybe it opens a secret area to find new pokemon and once you defeat it you can keep it or you can spare it or kill it. Each other giving you something, eg keeping it lets you use it in battle, sparing it can give you an item and killing it can you give you an item. Just had some ideas id like to share with you guys ;P

It's a bit late for suggestions rexthegamer. The plot is already being written.

Yeah. Sounds a bit too major to be a side quest. I was thinking more along the lines of having to get some item for some girl or something. Well, not really that basic but not as complicated as that. By side quest I mean something that doesn't really link in with the plot, and I feel it would be quite hard to keep some forthcoming war with a legendary Pokemon trying to destroy the world separate from the plot.
