Imitator Description: User mimics the target and gains all their stat changes. Effect: Copies the opponent's stat changes on switch in.
I thought that it would be a cool ability that's similar to Ditto's Impostor, but instead of transforming into the opposing Pokémon, all that the Pokémon copies are the opponent's stat changes.
Pokémon: Mankey*, Primeape*, Ditto, Mime Jr.*, Mr Mime*, Mew, Aipom*, Ambipom*, Meditite, Medicham, Kecleon, Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape, Chatot*, Pansage, Simisage, Pansear, Simisear, Panpour, Simipour, Fakemons
* means that this Pokémon already has three abilities
Notes: -During Double or Triple battles, the user randomly copies any opponent with any form of stat changes. -The reason why there are a bunch of primates is because they have been known to imitate the behavior of things. Also, the word ape, as a verb, means to imitate the behavior or manner of something or someone.
I haven’t looked at all the abilities on the forum, so if someone already made something like this, please notify me. If anyone has any comments, questions, suggestions, corrections, or anything else, please comment!
Thanks for looking at my ability! :3 Also, for anyone that sees my other Ability Thread "Impatient", I let it fall because I guess there's already been an ability like that.

You forgot to add what Pokemon/Fakemon would get this ability. Like this ability though :]

I think better judgemnent could be given based on what gets this. Overall , it seems a bit too strong if you ask me.

The ability will most likely go to some of the new fakemon the users create here.

So this ability is sort of a Psych Up on switch in? It's a really interesting concept, as you can copy negative affects as well, but I'm wondering how it would work in a Double or Multi Battle. Does it work as Trace does and randomly pick a Pokemon?

I was thinking that it would copy any opposing Pokemon with any form of stat changes (provided that there is one). If both opposing Pokemon have stat changes, it would randomly pick one of the two. I don't know if this is a little too OP, but if people think it is, I'll probably stick with the random pick like Trace.

I actually really like this ability. My only concern would be it getting outclassed by imposter. I could see how it would be really troublesome if a strong pokemon was given this, but maybe it might be right to give it to something stronger. After all, what's the point of copying stat boosts if it's a really weak mon. The weak mon itself would just get outclassed by the opponent with the stat boosts already. You should definitely put out a list of mons that can use this before we can go further in decision.

Very cool concept! Its pretty simple so I cant really coment much but this what I suggested for another ability.I would suggest giving this to a fakemon/pokemon with a lack of boosting moves so that it cant have this amazing sweeping capability. For some reason the name makes me feel like ditto would get this as it resembles copying and stuff like that?

I will try to make a list of pokemon with a shortage of boosting moves to give to. Currently, Ditto is the only one that actually fits in with the flavor of the move, so it will most likely get it. However, Impostor outclasses this ability on Ditto. Thanks for your input Leafeon! n.n

Changed the name of the ability and also added a list of Pokemon that are possible candidates for the ability. :3

Zoroark/Zorua shouldn't get this ability as they are meant to only have their signature ability. Also, do Mankey and Primeape as well as the other Monkeys fit because of "Monkey see, Monkey Do"? If so, Infernape line and possibly Meditite line should get this ability as well.

Wouldn't this just be really pointless to have on ditto?

If so, Infernape line and possibly Meditite line should get this ability as well. Yeah, I was uncertain when putting Zorua and Zoroark in the list because of this. The only reason they were on the list was because they somewhat fit the flavor. I'll remove them from the list. For the monkey thing, yes, that's why I gave most of the monkey/ape 'mons this move; It's also in the notes. I'll certainly add Infernape's line, but I'm not too sure about Meditite's line. I'll add them in only because they somewhat resemble monkeys and because they don't have three abilities already. Thanks for your suggestions Ben Ohver!

True. For some reason I was thinking that adding this ability onto it would give a 50-50 chance of wild ditto having a useless ability, when actually its normal ability is practically useless as well.

I dislike it. It's basically Impostor. I honestly am tempted to just instantly reject this due to unoriginality. The list of mons you gave it to is also way too long.
Also, I don't want to see Zoroark getting this. It should be locked into Illusion like Gengar is locked into Levitate.

Aw, well sorry for being unoriginal, and I see why this ability is just another version if Impostor. I thought that taking out the transform part would make it different from Impostor but I now realize that Pokemon with this ability would probably be used the same way as Ditto with Impostor. I was going to remove the 'mons with the asterisk next to them to make the list shorter. This can be rejected, I don't mind. Thanks for giving me your thoughts on it though! :3

Right, but the fact that Ditto can do what it does is what makes it unique. This would basically remove the point of Ditto itself, "stealing the show".
