Sprites
You are allowed to post sprites in here for Fakemon and Items only.
Hello all artists and spriters, I am Rhythms, and this is the first official sprite project. Our goal is to create sprites of all approved Fakemon with the intention of keeping faithful to the sprite style of Black [2] and White [2] sprites. All sprites made will be custom-made from the project or with the specific permission of the original creator (if it was already made). Others sites and projects can use them but require sending notice to the manager (user Rhythms) before implementing them (more on this down below). This system will involve levels of progress to track the ideal progress of the sprite.
Rules for Sprites
- 96x96 and a transparent background
- 15 colors in the Fakemon
- In Gen V style
- Sprites submitted are open to modification by more experienced spriters, edited for gender/shiny/animations or replaced outright for higher quality sprites (though we encourage you to take unmade Fakemon rather than pull the rug out of somebody else)
- Static sprites will not be replaced with animated ones if the animated sprite is of lesser value.
- We encourage sprites to be made of all the Fakemon before we go on an animation spree of our favorites; however, if you really want to animate something, feel free to reserve it.
- Spriters are expected to do the static sprites of the front and back, spriters who continue to make only fronts may not have future sprites accepted (backsprites can be harder with lack of available references, lots of people can take official art and make it a sprite). In addition to this if you're going to animate for us it would be ideal to also do the front and back.
- Pokemon can be reserved for a week, but if there is no sign of progress the reservation will be dropped. Animation reserves can last longer
- The pose for front and back sprites should be the same.

Tasks for non-spriters
They could help but don't expect a badge out of it
-Learn to sprite lol, recolouring is really easy too.
-Collect reference photos for backsprites.
-Notice gender differences in new pokemon.
-Are there gender differences in old Pokemon? Crap we better figure that out.
-Recruit spriters from other communities who may have already made sprites and would love to see their work in this.
THE BELOW WAS STOLEN FROM SMOGON.COM
Levels of Progress
While not shown it should be assumed that the same user would do the front sprite and the back sprite in the interest of sanity.
Basic Outline: A sprite with a basic outline and one shade of colours added for users to easily recognize Pokemon. These are ideal to submit to track user progress from reservations and to prevent blatant stealing, and good for inexperienced spriters to get feedback.
Full Sprite: A single framed sprite in the default pose, would be the ideal position for all pokemon in preparation for gen6 on PS.
Extra Steps: Not as immediately necessary for simulator play but would be nice to get around to.
Gendered: If we discover there are gender differences sprites, such as female Fennekin having only yellow tails, these will be the next step in edits to ensure accuracy. Unless Jellicent levels of changes the sprites should be mostly the same.
Shiny: They'll all be found sooner or later and people will want them in the sims as well. Recolouring is a rather simple task so ideally we delegate to lesser spriters while providing a guide to choosing colours.
Animated: Likely the most difficult part and the ones that will come last, not many spriters animate both front sprites and backs. Ideally works the same as B/W sprites with 2-3 loops then rare animation
(but much better)
If you are a good spriter and would like to help out post in this thread, reserve a Fakemon and begin spriting! If you are new to spriting this may not be the project for you but keep at it.
