Name of the Move: Infra Lazer Type: Electric Secondary Effect: 10% Chance to burn the Opposing Pokemon, 10% to paralyze the opposing pokemon. Accuracy: 100% Base Power: 80 Special
So this move, is an Electric type. It has a 30% chance to burn, as Lazers burn. This move is super effective on Dark types, because dark coloured objects are opaque (i.e. absorb more amount of radiations).Description: A Lazer beam is fired on the opposing pokemon. It may leave a Pokemon with a burn or paralysis.
Affected by Protect: YES Affected by King's Shield: YES Affected by Crafty Shield: NO Affected by Magic Coat: NO Affected by King's Rock: YES Affected by Spiky Shield: YES Affected by Detect: YES Affected by Sheer Force: YES Pokemon: Ampharos, Rotom, Dedenne, Jolteon, Magnezone, Zekrom, and Some Fakemons. (Comment PLZ!) EDIT: This move is no longer super effective on Dark types. I can soon mark this move as finished. I finally finished this move. Thank you Hawkie, Psych, silverwhiteblue, kizzo212, and all others who contributed! Snaquaza Ace Twix GalomEDIT2: Burn chance dropped. Para chance added. Finnally i wont edit Infra Lazer anymore.

Sounds cool, although giving it a 30% chance to burn alongside giving it a 2x effectiveness on a type it would normally hit for 1x is overpowered in my opinion. If I were you, I'd choose one or the other. Good luck.

I'd say not to go with the super effective damage on Dark-types, so it's similar to Scald, but add a 10% chance to Paralyze as well, and make it exclusive to a few Pokemon.

Is there a List of Pokemon that can use this? That would help make a decision. Also I would take out one of the secondary effects, preferably the "2x to Dark Types," it seems like an unnecessary addition in my opinion. Especially since a burn is already pretty OP for this move.

This would make it ideal actually. I do like the super effective on dark effect tho, but i think you should make another move that's electric and works like freeze dry but from electric to dark

So the Poll results say that the secondary effect must be just 30% chance to burn. So, im going to edit the post.

Paralysis makes more sense for this move than burn in my opinion. I would say 10 or 20% is realistic as far the secondary effect.

I'm not really too sure about this move. From a scientific standpoint, lasers work with visible light as opposed to infrared, so mixing the two idk. Aside from that, in all honesty, I just dont really see any pokemon getting a laser move. It may be electromagnetic waves and all that jazz, but it just doesnt seem right to me, with lasers being more of a manmade thing (moves like embargo do exist but eh) . I do like the idea of an electric attack being able to burn, but I don't think it should take the form of a laser.

I actually think it's a good idea, but adding a para chance would make it seem a little overpowered. Also, how is it affected by Bulletproof? this isn't a ball or a bomb

I like the idea, and I'd like to see what pokemon you have in mind that could learn this.
The Burn chance needs to be lowered, some fire moves don't even have this good of secondary effect. Lower it to maybe 15%, as that would par it with Fire Blast and Flamethrower with similar chances.

Can someone explain why this would be electric type, and how a pokemon would use this move.

Salamencizer why not add a list of pokemon that can learn this? just so we have an idea what are we giving this

Can someone explain why this would be electric type, and how a pokemon would use this move. Lasers emit electromagnetic radiation and afaik there hasn't been any other light based damaging moves I don't see how the paralyzing chance would work, it's not electrocuting you it's just really hot light We need a list of Pokemon who will learn this because I can't think of many that could use this logically, unless you want to create a fakemon for this to be signature for Also it's spelt laser, not lazer.

Yeah. I got the whole EM wave thing but just because it has a oscillating electrical field thing going on, I'm still not sure thats justification enough. EM waves come from different sources, whether it be UV rays from the sun, or IR waves from any hot object. Lasers work through the excitement and simultaneous deexcitement of electrons (usually in a sample of ruby) and although this is probably going a bit too far into the science of things, if anything that would mean you could give it to ampharos as it kinda has that ruby-like gem thing going on.

While I liked the move, this is a very valid point that's been made. I think further judgment should be based on who gets this
