Hey guys
To start off, as Snaz and many people know. I'm still on a LOA where I have (good) wifi only once a week. But, two weeks from now get ready because this is about to become bomb.com (your welcome for all the CIA views).
Once we start, this is what the general plan will start to look like:
- Develop the Basic Plot arc (What the story is about) - Begin making a rough sketch of the map that goes along with the plot. At the same time, flesh out the plot and figure out major features.
The map development and the plot development can not be made independently. As with basically any pokemon game, it is the plot that gardeners the most interest and usually reason to explore around. Especially in the realm of ROM's where more detailed stories aren't an exception, they are the norm.
So we must make sure that everything we make somehow benefits either the plot, or another key aspect we want to show off. In regards to the map and music, they have to be things that are cool and awesome, but in toe with the direction the game's plot is taking around that time. Will that mean redoing some stuff? Potentially, I would rather try to recycle as much as we can. But ultimately, we will most likely need to develop some new material.
