Hi guys, gals, and everybody else! Today, I would like to present you the Monsters of Energy.
(Name suggestions are accepted if you don't like the names.) (I'm actively looking for a designer.)
Detailed Concept to answer most FAQs (Please read these after you examine the actual data of the Pokémon and please actually read these to evaluate my mon):
The Normal type of the whole line is there to describe the energy cores that they possess, since there are no types that accurately describe all types of energy as a whole. Moreover, the most close thing to a move that collects energy as a whole is a Normal type move, too - the move Tri Attack. Surely Psychic, Electric, and Fairy exist but;
- It should be clear by the flavor of them that these things are not f---ing Winx Club members.
- They don't only use electric energy with their cores - they store and unleash beams and blasts of a combination of light, sound, electricity, heat, and life energy (which is the type of energy Litwick feeds on, also is the type of energy that forms Energy Ball and Shadow Ball); hence the moves Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Flamethrower.
- "Energy cores" do not describe psychic powers, for Drableton uses an alternation of echolocation to sense its surroundings and to contact with Nestramal, not using weird psychic powers similar to that of the likes of Duosion.
Even though there aren't many metaphors hidden in Pokémon games, I have to admit that the Nestramal line has one of the most metaphorical designs of all the Pokémon. While what I'm going to tell you about is not one of the two main themes (One is the colony and one is the powerful energy cores alongside the impenetrable scales.), the whole evolution line secretly describes the life of an average human being whose life is crushed with the socio-economic "system" of the world community nowadays. Of course, if this is approved, the game will most probably not (and should not imo) give any hint about this, since it is a bit dark even for my taste. The resemblance to humans is one of the minor reasons why they are Normal type.
Drableton describes the baby stage and early childhood of the average human being. During these phases, it is not able to defend itself in any way (Its weak base attacking stats, the move Splash and the ability Weak Armor complement this fact), needing a guardian of some sort to have itself protected. However, as I stated that this is not one of the two main themes I created this Pokémon around, most Drableton are definitely not completely defenseless against threats unlike actual babies, for they can at least rapidly roll away making use of its relatively high Speed stat to find the Nestramal of the colony.
Dratecta resemble the adolescence and youth (to like mid-thirties) of the average human being, being full of energy (no pun intended) and actually living their life to their most, soaring the skies (hence the ability Levitate) joyfully without having to care about too much. However, they still have only one job to do - they have to protect their little brothers from the dangers of the forest. They save the Drableton by grabbing them with their hands and carrying them to their nest (For this reason, they have to be significantly faster than Drableton, explaining the high 90 base speed.) The more Drableton they save, the more they get rewarded by nature, the experience making them stronger. This situation symbolizes working in actual life, you get a job, you work hard (aka save more Drableton), and you get rewarded - with money.
Nestramal symbolizes the rest of life, from working hard as a middle aged person all the way to elderness and the deathbed. The hefty shell of scales surrounding and containing its body actually convey the unforgiving responsibilities. He has been burdened and weakened by all these years of working like a dog (In this sentence outside of the brackets, I am talking about the human, not the Dratecta - it doesn't have that much work) that he has (mentally) collapsed onto the ground since he is not able to cope with the heavy responsibilities depicted by the hefty scales anymore. Because of this, Nestramal is completely immobile for the rest of its life, hence the abysmal 20 base Speed. Despite the fact that Nestramal is finally the head of its family and now has all that power and control in its hands just like the elderly of strong families, its age has brought it even more burdens - most being caused by all the stress in the middle age - like all those typical conditions that elderly people get (cancer, arthritis, dementia etc.), adding even more scales to its back. Furthermore, the odd move Calm Mind in the movepool of Nestramal may be conceived as human's only weapon against all the responsibilites that it has. Moreover, the scales actually form Nestramal's metaphorical coffin, providing it eternal rest once all the Drableton have evolved into Dratecta, and all the Dratecta have flown away from the colony. The shell encloses it just like the coffin they put elderly people after they die, and this is why it has the ability Shell Armor instead of Battle Armor.
Now, let's move on to the three odd Psychic type moves in the evolution line's movepool: Confusion for all of them, Calm Mind for Nestramal, and Amnesia for Nestramal. I have already explained Calm Mind, so that leaves only Confusion and Amnesia. Metaphorically speaking, Confusion for Drableton complements the fact that Drableton resembles a baby, for a baby knows nothing when it is born, and newly-hatched Drableton move around aimlessly because they know nothing until they learn things. Realistically speaking, the Nestramal line can emit high pitched sound waves and UV light beams to mess up cause minor damage in their opponents' brains, having a small chance to confuse them (same logic used with Confuse Ray). Amnesia symbolizes the many diseases that elderly people (That's why it is learnt so late at level 64.) can acquire - with Alzheimer's syndrome being only one of them. These are the reasons for these three moves to exist in the movepool, and they will not be removed.
I hope I was able to answer most of the questions that people had, and I also hope this minor metaphor isn't too dark to be approved. I also must emphasize again that this is not the main flavor of Drableton, Dratecta, and Nestramal.

Drableton
Type: Normal
Abilities: Bulletproof, Run Away, Weak Armor (HA)
Species: Rolling Pokémon
Base Stats: 90 HP / 25 Atk / 50 Def / 40 SpA / 50 SpD / 70 Spe / 320 BST
Dex Entry: - Drableton cannot see, but they emit weak but unique energy pulses which allow them to be able to briefly sense their surroundings while moving and make contact with their parents and brethren. Strange noises can be heard from the energy core inside its hard shell.
- Even though they are very weak, they sometimes wander off aimlessly into the forest. When one senses being threathened, it immidiately rolls away to find its parents if it is alone.
Height: 0.2 m (0'08")
Weight: 2.1 kg (4.6 lbs)
Gender: 50% Male 50% female
Base Experience Yield: 64 Points
Leveling Rate: 1250000 Exp Points - Slow
EV Yield: 1 HP EV
Egg Group(s): Monster, Dragon
Catch Rate: 225
Steps to Hatch: 10455 - 10709 steps
Base Friendship: 70
Body Shape: Pomaceous
Pokédex Color: White
Footprint: None
Design:
- It is a perfect sphere.
- There are irregularly shaped small white scales (like the shape of the bones in a human palm) seperated with glowing fire-red lines all over its body. This is due to a fire-red energy core being located inside it.
- It has a smaller, but distinguishable opening (which is colored black inside) on one "side" which is supposed to be a mouth (no teeth inside).
Shiny Design:
The white scales become silver; the red stripes glow in a darker hue, similar to a ruby crystal.

Dratecta (evolves from Drableton who level up knowing Dragon Rage)
Type: Normal / Dragon
Abilities: Bulletproof, Levitate, Weak Armor (HA)
Species: Protector Pokémon
Base Stats: 100 HP / 40 Atk / 85 Def / 75 SpA / 50 SpD / 90 Spe / 440 BST
Dex Entry: - Drableton and Dratecta live together in colonies. Dratecta's job in the colony is to protect Drableton from danger and provide Nestramal and Drableton food.
- If a lone Dratecta is soaring the skies, it is close to evolution. It can fire off strong energy beams with the four energy cores located in its mouth, eyes, and back.
Height: 1.8 m (0'08")
Weight: 115.0 kg (253.5 lbs)
Gender: 50% Male 50% female
Base Experience Yield: 154 Points
Leveling Rate: 1250000 Exp Points - Slow
EV Yield: 2 HP EVs
Egg Group(s): Monster, Dragon
Catch Rate: 155
Steps to Hatch: 10455 - 10709 steps
Base Friendship: 35
Body Shape: Sciurine
Pokédex Color: Black
Footprint:
Design:
- It stands on two legs when it is not flying. (Kinda looks like this komodo dragon when standing.)
- The pupils of the eyes look like this Venipede's pupils.
- Right eye glows blue, left eye glows green, inside of the mouth glows fire-red (the three energy cores that fire off Tri Attack). The mouth does have teeth now, which are white.
- It has a large, yellow head that resembles this cobra by the shape and and size of the scales, and also the width of the neck. Also, the color palette is very, very similar. However, only the top of its head is covered with black scales (The black ones look like medieval dragon scales, not simple snake scales or the bone-like irregular scales of Drableton. Moreover, they have a regular pattern now.), the rest of the head is completely yellow.
- The black scales completely cover its back from the top of the head all the way down to the top of the tail. However, it has one big spot without scales on his back about 10 cm radius, where the fourth energy core is located. This core glows yellow.
- It has a pair of large black wings just above the yellow core.
- It's body width is similar to this komodo dragon.
- It has white hands with larger palms compared to humans instead of regular dragon claws. This is an adaptation to let Dratecta grab Drableton more easily. The hands are covered in the same type of white, irregular scales that surround Drableton (with non-glowing red lines) and do not have nails.
- The rest of its body (including the feet and the bottom of its medium-sized tail) are covered in the same type of scales that surround Drableton (with non-glowing red lines). Its belly size and width is similar to that of Dragonite. Its foot size and shape is similar to that of Haxorus, but the nails on the feet have a similar shape and size to this komodo dragon. The nails are silver colored.
Shiny Design:
- Black becomes gold; white & yellow become silver; non-glowing red lines stay the same. Moreover, all the energy cores glow purple now.
- The color of the toenails does not change.

Nestramal (evolves from Dratecta that level up to 41)
Type: Normal / Dragon
Abilities: Bulletproof, Soundproof, Shell Armor (HA)
Species: Colossal Pokémon
Base Stats: 170 HP / 65 Atk / 110 Def / 110 SpA / 50 SpD / 20 Spe / 525 BST
Dex Entry: - Drableton and Dratecta live together in colonies with each colony having Nestramal as its alpha, who provides small nests within its humongous body for the Drableton.
- The massive body and the impenetratable dragon scales it gained upon evolution are too heavy and dense for it to move, hear, or fly. It fires off devastating energy blasts from its three energy cores located on its head, back, and tail if it senses a big threat.
Height: 6.2 m (20'04")
Weight: 650.0 kg (1433.0 lbs)
Gender: 50% Male 50% female
Base Experience Yield: 236 Points
Leveling Rate: 1250000 Exp Points - Slow
EV Yield: 3 HP EVs
Egg Group(s): Monster, Dragon
Catch Rate: 35
Steps to Hatch: 10455 - 10709 steps
Base Friendship: 35
Body Shape: Alvine
Pokédex Color: Black
Footprint:
Design:
- It lies on the ground, being completely immobile. It only has the power to move its tail and eyes which are yellow now and look like this Venipede's eyes. The eyes also have lost their ability to glow.
- Its body shapesomewhat resembles a Venipede. It has three lobes instead of Venipede's four lobes though resembles the croissant on the right of this picture.
- Its head is just a bigger version of Dratecta's, but the yellow cobra scales are a bit paler now (to be able to distinguish the yellow eyes). The blue&green energy cores have almost fused into one (looks like a MasterCard logo), and are now located on the top of the head.
- The hefty black scales form a semi-exoskeleton now (they still follow a regular pattern), and now are much bigger and they look like something between Sydney Opera House, this bug and Gyarados. Thus, its four feet (The hands have transformed into other feet.) and white belly is not visible under the massive body. The head and the tail escape out through two narrow openings, but the tail is completely black now and is a bit shorter than Dratecta's.
- The yellow energy core is still located on its back, glowing as usual.
- The red energy core is now located on the tip of the tail, surrounded within the same type of white, irregular scales that surround Drableton (Yes, its tip of the tail is a mini-Drableton with no mouth-like opening.). Of course, the red lines glow again, due to an energy core being located in the sphere.
- It has smaller wings, but not too small.
Shiny Design:
- The white scales on the tip of the tail become silver, but the energy core inside it, and thus the red lines glow purple.
- The eyes stay yellow.
- The energy cores glow purple.
- The bottom of its head is now orange, not silver.
- The wings stay black unlike Dratecta's wings.
- The rest of the black part becomes golden.

- Its body shape
