Name: Scarecrow Effect: This ability gives immunity to flying type attacks. Distribution: Exclusive to Strawlit line (Fakemon)
This ability is going to be for my upcoming fakemon, Strawlit, Strawvest, and Strawrath, which are based off scarecrows. They will be grass types, except for Strawrath which is a Grass/Steel type.

RIP Talonflame's Gale Wings. (Still has Flare Blitz though) This actually is kind of strong, especially for this line. The last mon is Grass/Steel, and most Flying type mons have other types that steel resists, making it very hard to kill if it is up against most Flying types.
Also, how would Flying Press work against this? Would it just negate the flying-type part of it, or keep it because it's fighting primarily?

I assume it would nullify all of Flying Press. I know this ability is really strong, but it's exclusive to one line AND most of the line is pure grass, which means it's still weak to 4 other types.

I like the idea. It's similar how normal moves don't do anything to ghost type. It adds a new twist which I like

Cool idea, everything makes sense but I feel like typing immunity abilities shouldn't be signature but then again, I don't really see a flying immunity fitting anything else.

I'm glad you made this exclusive to 1 fakemon line. This ability will probably make it loads better.

After doing a bit of research, I determined that Flying Press would not be affected by Scarecrow.

It's a nice concept, but I feel like maybe an immunity is completely justified. Don't exactly see how being a scarecrow would give you immunity to a dragon's hurricane for example. But then on the other hand, I dont see how Sap sipper would stop a Zebstrika from getting hurt by most grass moves, so I guess in terms of Pokemon logic it wouldn't be too bad. I guess you could maybe try and fit it in more with the flavour, changing the effect to say, giving a 50% chance for flying types to 'flinch' when attacking this mon, but an immunity would probably be a lot simpler.

You do know most things regarding Flying Press are based on its Fighting-type right?
"...it is a Fighting-type move: only Fighting-type Pokémon can receive the same-type attack bonus on Flying Press, it is unaffected by items like the Sky Plate and Flying Gem, and it will not activate the target's Coba Berry. If Flying Press is used while under the effect of Electrify or Normalize, damage is calculated using Flying type and Electric or Normal type modifiers instead."
Where did you get your research ?.?

Yeah... aren't we saying the same thing, pokemonvortex? Scarecrow won't affect Flying Press.

I think it's more logical if Flying-type's attacks are weakened, as they're afraid to come close. Right now Crawdaunt would be unable to use Aerial Ace.
Also give it to Cacnea and Cacturne.

Alright, how about flying type attacks are reduced to 0.5x damage?

Eh. A crawdaunt might not make be able to aerial ace it, but u cant hit a bird by throwing a bone at it, or damage a pony by hitting it with a punch thats a bit fiery, so I think some logical sacrifices are fine. Maybe this makes too many sacrifices though, since quite a lot of flying types things aren't birds. Don't think scarecrows will exactly scare dragons off, or save them from a wind genie's hurricane. I guess having a way of firmly planting itself in the ground would help with the latter bit, and most physical flying moves are pretty "birdy" aside from a few like aerial ace. Either way, I don't see how reducing to 0.5x makes as opposed to an immunity makes much more logical sense. My opinion might change, but for now I'd say keep it as it is, we can probably get away with it.

No further issues with this, immunity makes enough sense as a lot of flying-type Pokemon are based on birds.
Approved 1/2
