Parasol When a pokemon is wearing a parasol, it ignores the increases and decreases in power of specific move types in specific weather when taking damage. So like how water moves do fifty percent less in sun and fire moves do fifty percent more, it would take damage as if their was no weather and will not get buffeted by sand and hail. This item would work well ingame because almost every region has a period of weather somewhere and I'm assuming Kyoru will too. This works nicely in balance for pokemon that are just too much like Charizard Y in the sun omg. This does NOT get rid of the weather. This is an equivalent to those goggles that gets rid of the weather damage. Fling damage: 60

At first I thought this was gonna be 1.5x power to Rock/Steel/Ground type moves in Sandstorm (which would be interesting), but I guess this would be cool too.

So this basically acts as a weather eliminator in the form of an item? I assume this isn't a perishable item.
In this case, I'm not sure the name fits the description.

But maybe I should make this item suited for sand only...

I don't actually see how this makes sense. How do you prevent the sun from powering up the moves of other mons?

I don't actually see how this makes sense. How do you prevent the sun from powering up the moves of other mons? It doesn't prevent the sun from powering up moves of other mons, they still get the powerup. It just reduces the damage the user takes like those berries that reduces super effective damage except these moves aren't super effective but they kinda are in their designated weather. The layers of clothing act like an insulator. Like a space blanket.

Why would it only work in weather .-. well idk, turbans are usually worn in harsh weather besides religious aspects so it fits flavor wise. If it worked everywhere, that would be too broad of an idea.

Safety goggles already exist as an item that works as a form of anyi-weather, and we already have abilities like cloud nine, so idk if this is really needed. It could be a nice idea, but I dont think the overall concept makes too much sense.

I like the idea as in a concept, a lot actually, but the only problem is what Snaquaza pointed out, the fact that there is no logical solid link in a turban working just in weather. maybe if you can make it an item that fits weather conditions sligtly better, it would be more apreciated. What makes this hard is that there isnt anything used in all kinds of weather, so it's hard to genelarise

This kind of item links to the ability Unaware, that ignores stat changes.

What if you instead made this a Parasol? You can have the holder completely ignore weather for itself (example: Braixen is holding a parasol in rain. When it uses a fire type move, the rain fire-damage nullifier is ignored. As a drawback, it also ignores Sun). Rock types would not get a special defense buff. Sandstorm/Hail damage are both ignored. In Sun or Rain Water/Fire type attacks would not have increased ir decreased power.

Salient that's exactly what this item is but the pokemon would still be damaged by the weather. The power boost and drawbacks are ignored.

Salient's idea seems pretty solid and makes sense. Kinda outclasses safety goggles a bit, but seeing as the main use of safety goggles from what I see is for the powder-immune side of things, I don't think it matters too much.
