Name: Terrazii Type: Ground Species: Arid Tortoise HT: 3'2" WT: 328.7LBS (120 BP)
Design:Normal Form Shiny Form: Analysis on the new design:The jaw has 3 protrusions underneath it. 2 of them are meant to resemble scent glands and the 3rd helps to solidify the rugged design. The small spike on its nose is meant to resemble an "egg tooth" (used to hatch from their eggs) so I can say it has a horn on its head. Its eyes were altered to give it a much tougher look. The green iris signifies that it eats plants and pays homage to its reptilian origins. Its front legs have a new design which features similar protrusions to the lower jaw, which keeps them from standing out while also enhancing its rugged design. I made the legs slightly thicker to enhance its strong, rugged appearance. More emphasis was placed on its extended gular horn, giving it more reason to possess its arsenal of horn-based attacks. The scutes on its shell are meant to resemble Egyptian pyramids, which provide a nice design link to the desert while also making Agassi look tougher and giving it a dragon-like appearance. Gender Ratio: 50/50 Catch Rate: 65 Base Friendship: 70 Growth Rate: Medium Base EXP: 168 EV Yield: 2 Def Egg Group: Monster, Field Hatch Time: 5397-6682 steps (21-26 Cycles) Dex Color: Brown Pokedex:
1.) It is generally a docile Pokémon. It spends most of its time inside of its underground burrow to escape the heat of the desert sun. Despite this, it enjoys sunbathing and foraging for food. 2.) Even though it spends most of its time inside of its underground burrow, it enjoys sunbathing in moderation. It often allows smaller Pokémon to use its burrow for shelter despite its territorial nature. I'm loving this idea though i'd rather see a mossy sea turtle [was going to happen] this is actually neat, and extremely distinct with the other turtles due to its ground typing and extremely slow speed. Once you give this a little more side information, it has a good chance of being approved. Though, only a few moves look a little odd. I'm guessing the turtle you based this on has horns and fangs, so if it doesn't then why the fang moves and horn drill? I am also thinking maybe expanding the movepool a little bit would be nice, like making it learn things like sand attack and harden before moves like dig and iron defense. One more thing, if u want this move approved, you're gonna have to submit your move "gular smash" in the moves section, and it has to be approved before aggasi. That's all Keep up the good work.

Nice start! I don't see any problems with what you have now, so this is what you still have to do: -Egg moves and parents -Misc. Details: Gender Ratio, EV yield (2 Def), Base EXP (BST*7/20), Catch Rate, Egg Group(s), Dex Colour, Hatch Time, Level Rate. If I didn't give you the formula/logistic already, than copy a similar Pokemon's or what makes sense. -Don't forget to put a "WIP" tag

It has a rugged body, and since Torterra is a close cousin, I thought it'd make sense.

It has a rugged body, and since Torterra is a close cousin, I thought it'd make sense. It'll only make sense if your proposal is a grass-type, and/or related to wood/tree design. Otherwise you should drop Wood Hammer. Other critique: 1. Idk where you got that hatch step number, but the correct ones are 5355(genIV) or 5140(genV+). There is no 5609. 2. Are you sure you only want Sap Sipper? No hidden ability? 3. Expand your TM and Tutor movepool. I don't see moves that would normally be here like Attract, Confide, Sandstorm, Rock Tomb, Snore, Sleep Talk, etc. 4. When using scientific names in naming Pokemon, don't use the species name. (i.e. Gopherus(<genus) agassizi(<species)) It's because chances are, the species name is just coined after the scientist/biologist who discovered it and has no relation to the animal itself whatsoever. "agassizi" is most likely the same. I'd rather you based it on the genus or family name.

1. I got the hatch count from Wartortle on Bulbapedia.
2. Yes.
3. Done.
4. This name seemed to be the most fitting for the concept. Plus, if I did use the genus name, people would think this is based on a Gopher tortoise instead of a desert tortoise, or think it has something to do with gophers.

Listen, i'll give you a detailed reason why wood hammer doesn't make sense here: 1: Most Grass types get it, because it's a grass type move. This is not 2: It's related to trees, which is the main reason why the other turtle torterra gets it . This isn't related to wood. 3: The Pokemon that get the move are exxegutor, torterra, abomasnow, the chespin line, maractus, and trenevent. Chespin gets it mainly because since the armor it has is like how wood is hard [wooden shield] imo. And maractus, well, doesn't have a reason tbh, but it's grass, so the grass move makes sense. 4: The only non-grass pokemon getting it is sudowoodo, and sudowoodo is a tree wannabe, which gives it a great cause of being the only unique type to get this. To sum it up, it doesn't have a tree related design, it isn't grass type. it's just a desert tortoise that is capable of ground related moves and shell related moves, and some flavor moves to differentiate it like the horn moves you gave it. That's all it's a good fakemon, probably one of the fastest growing ones tbh, but with everyone disagreeing about wood hammer, it won't gt approved, unless you have a great reasoning to dodge this great post

Now that you dropped Wood Hammer, there are still many moves that don't make sense on Agassi: Flare Blitz, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Overheat, Flame Charge, Hone Claws, Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Brick Break, Incinerate, Fling, Payback, Gyro Ball, Nature Power, Outrage, and Heat Wave. Because x learns it, then this should is not a viable excuse.

Hone Claws: Agassi DOES have claws that it can actually use.
Fling: If Agassi can fling a Groudon out of the battle with Gular Bash, then it could fling an Iron Ball.
Sunny Day: Agassi lives in the desert. Do I need any other justification for this move?
Payback & Outrage: I refer you to Pokedex entry #1 and #2. Its territorial and very aggressive.
Solar Beam: It can absorb energy from the sun. No photosynthesis is required for this move, actually.
Fire-Type Attacks: Most of the Fire-Type attacks just require burping fire. Agassi stores a lot of thermal energy, which it uses for these attacks.
Flare Blitz: It learns Rock Climb, which you agree makes sense. Rock Climb implies that Agassi can charge at high speed, which is a must for Flare Blitz.
Gyro Ball, Brick Break, Incinerate: You got me there...

Hone Claws, Fling: Looking at the art you provided, it looks like it needs the hands to be on the ground to support itself. Honing them would be stupid, and Fling implies throwing. Sunny Day: If it lives in the Desert, it should get Sandstorm and only Sandstorm. Payback and Outrage: However, I don't see Agassi tracking down and hunting the opponent for Payback or go on a murderous rampage. Outrage is usually reserved for Dragons. Solar Beam: "absorbing energy from the sun" implies photosynthesis, or a strong connection the heat and sunlight. Dex entry 1 says that it tries to stay out of the desert heat and sun. Fire Type Moves: First off, Dex entry one states that it doesn't like heat or the sun. 2nd, with it's 30 speed, its not going to go fast enough to go on fire or burp fire and walk into it and cause damage. I've told you in the room that these moves make no sense. Flare Blitz and Rock Climb: "Spd: 30"

Rock Climb makes sense because one of the major ways the actual tortoises fight is by RAMMING, which is exactly what Rock Climb is. Plus, tortoises can stand on 3 legs without any problem, which gives it room to hone its claws. I will get rid of Solar Beam, but Flamethrower and Fire Blast are reserved for TM only. Plus, not every move has to make sense! Toxic doesn't make sense on a lot of Pokémon, right?

How can it hone its claws if only 1 hand can be free? 0-0

Fine, keep Rock Climb, but Flare Blitz and Flame Charge is outrageous. With an AMAZING 30 SPEED, of course Agassi and run fast enough to go on fire, right? As jaywad said, you need 2 hands to hone claws. "Not every move has to make sense" alright, I'm going to give Precipice Blades, Dragon Ascent, Origin Pulse, Bolt Strike and Judgment to my Fire starter now! Thanks for the advice! Its not like GF aka the creators decided to make Toxic an universal TM!

Few things I'll point out. - No Pokemon has base 80 friendship, it should probably be 70. - I feel like it should be in the field egg group, matching Torkoal, also allowing it to have slack off as a breeding move, which I feel works best as opposed to a relearn move, the same as hippowdon. It can remain in the monster egg group still, however, due to having more "reptilian" features. - Sap Sipper seems forced. I get its a herbivore, but it doesn't really fit in with the current pattern of Pokemon that have the move, all being mammals except the Goomy line. You probably don't want to make it too similar to Torkoal or Torterra, but there's no real reason not to give it Shell Armor. - I get the reasoning for it having dig as a starting move, but even diglett has to wait until lv34 to learn it. Maybe you should leave it until a little bit later just for balance. - It should still get confide. There are lots of solitary or shy Pokemon that still get the move, and the only Pokemon that can't learn confide or generally the non-TM ones so it makes no sense for Agassi not to get it. - So far only a couple of grass types (+ Xerneas) get horn leech, so I don't see why Agassi would get it. Tauros and Bouffalant both have sap sipper, horns and don't get it, so Agassi definitely shouldn't, especially since its going down the fire route with Flamethrower and Fire Blast. - In regards to learning fire moves, Whether you keep Flamethrower and Fire blast is up to you, but I think you need to maybe make it clearer why it gets those moves. Don't see any reason why it shouldn't get Sunny Day, however, and Outrage can be somewhat justified.

I fixed most of the things you mentioned. - Agassi learns Dig at Level 4 instead of starting with it
- Agassi can no longer use Horn Leech
- Agassi gets Shell Armor as its HA
- Agassi can use Confide
There are a few reasons for having Sap Sipper. The first is that it lives on a strict vegan diet, so being weak to the one thing it normally eats would be quite weird, imo. The second is to differentiate it from its tortoise brethren. In fact, Agassi would be the only true tortoise Pokémon that is weak to Grass without Sap Sipper. (Blastoise is a turtle, not a tortoise)
Sap Sipper and its typing leave it with only 2 weaknesses: Water and Ice. Given that Agassi is based on a desert reptile, these weaknesses make perfect sense. Reptiles are slowed down by cold temperatures and desert animals aren't used to dealing with large amounts of water.

why does it get sap sipper if it lives in the dessert? I can see something like Sand Force but not Sap Sipper.

It lives in a desert with a lot of vegetation and Grass-Type Pokémon, which forces it to adapt accordingly.

You might get a Maractus or Cacnea in the desert, but I don't really see many other grass type Pokemon being a good fit. But really I just feel it should get sap sipper because it's more for cattle. Pretty sure there are tons of herbivores in the Pokemon world. And they don't all get sap sipper.

Why not Sap Sipper? It would be very weird for a Pokémon to be weak to the ONE thing that their entire lineage is designed to eat, right?
