Recently, we decided to give Mega Beartic the boot. So we (staff) came up with a list of 8 Pokemon that we feel could use/deserve a Mega Evolution. (Beheeyem) - Suggested by Cyberknight98 (Breloom) - Suggested by Devoxys (Farfetch'd) - Suggested by sunfished(Golem) - Suggested by rexthegamer (Heliolisk) - Suggested by Kim BC (Luxray) - Suggested by staff (Scrafty) - Suggested by kizzo212 (Zoroark) - Suggested by Salient

[Tuesday, July 26, 2016 8:21 PM] Salient: everyone will make a short post saying why they nommed what they did and what could be done to make the pokemon better etc. Mega Breloom I nominated Breloom because it fits the criteria of "ideal Pokemon to receive a mega". It is a Pokemon with in a good tier (OU), but is not already dominating (Breloom is solidly planted in B+ viability ranking). This means it avoids being "a Mega Beartic", any way you approach it without taking the ones that would break any Pokemon (Huge Power, etc.), will still leave it relatively mediocre. It also will not be overpowered with a mega. There is a Pokemon similar to Breloom that has gotten a mega: Scizor. Scizor outclasses Breloom with Technician in a few ways (higher BST, better typing), and was a Pokemon with very high usage in OU. Giving it a mega allowed it to survive in the power creep, and continued to be a threat, but not a broken one. Breloom's stats are all mediocre, with the exception being attack. This allows for easy paths towards improving this Pokemon. Proposed MegaFor Mega Breloom, I want it to have a slight improvement on it's already very good attack stat. The rest goes towards improving it's defenses a bit, but not too much so it's different from Mega Scizor, and it's speed. It keeps Technician and it's typing. Sample: Breloom-Mega @ Breloomite Grass/Fighting type Ability: Technician 60 HP/150 Atk/100 Def/60 SpA/90 SpD/100 Spe or 60 HP/155 Atk/100 Def/60 SpA/95 SpD/90 Spe or 60/150/110/70/80/90 This set allows Mega Breloom to use Technician and Spore very effectively.

Why i think Golem should receive a mega: Golem was probally one of the most used pokemon in Generation one due to its power. Atleast at one point in the game you would have geodude or a graveller. Giving this a mega will bring this pokemon back to life in this modern game with more powerful pokemon to defeat. And it is also one of my favourites due to its lizard like appearance and typing. Mega stone: Golite
What should change: The Fire Mega I think Golem should change drastically, becoming a rock/fire type. Its design is basically his inner body core erupts into flames and magma being contained by the shells. His hards and head become flames, and his fangs become longer. His shell becomes smoother but you can still see the cracks where the magma flows.
PKMN NOR FIR WAT ICE FIG POI GRO FLY BUG ROC FAI
Rock/fire ½ ¼ 4 ½ 2 ½ 4 ½ ½ 2 ½
This shows what is Rock/fire is resistant to and as you can see it prevides alot of resistants to most of the types, excluding 6of them. It also makes grass not super effective only being normal damage. This resistant is however balanced due to it having 2 4x types against it and 2 2x types against it. Normally he would have 3 2x types super effective against him and he will become 4x resistant to fire.
Originally:485:80/110/130/55/65/45 Mega:585: 80/150/160/70/75/50 I have decided to use this stat spread because Golem utilizes mainly physical moves, therefore the increase attack will allow him to pack a punch. He also gains more defense to fight off the 4x super effective types and then the remainder of the usable numbers are spread across the pokemon.
He should learn filer to combat the 4x super effective moves.
The Steel Mega This idea is a version of Golem in which his shell falls off, from his dex entry we know that he sheds his skin. Therefore a mega evolution revealing the true identity of Golem would be awesome. He becomes a dinosaur like creature that is bipedal. He gains a tail and sharper claws. However, not all his shell falls off and instead turns into steel plating on its arms and most of its body. Therefore his typing would be Rock/Steel.
NOR FIR WAT ELE GRA ICE FIG POI GRO FLY PSY BUG ROC GHO DRA DAR STE FAI ROCKSTEEL ¼ 2 ½ 4 0 4 ¼ ½ ½ ½ ½ ½
Again this mega gives him 2 4x super effective against him. However he gains two 4x resistance to flying and normal. In addition he gains 2x resistance to fairy, dragon, rock, bug, psy, fly, and ice. However he loses immunity to electric but is now immune to poison.
Originally:485:80/110/130/55/65/45
Mega:585: 80/145/150/55/65/70
I have decided to up his speed due to him losing most of his shell, however i still think a boost for his attack was necessary due to him utilizing alot of physical moves.
He should learn filer to combat the 4x super effective moves.

Mega ZoroarkI suggested Zoroark to get a mega evolution due to its amazing potential. Unfortunately, Zoroark struggles from being too frail and too weak to sweep without setting up first. It is currently in BL2, and ranked C+ in UU and unranked in OU. Getting a Mega Evolution would give it the extra power and bulk it needs to be able to pose a threat, and become even stronger after using Nasty Plot or Swords Dance. It can get the chance to come in with its signature ability Illusion, and then Mega Evolve. Interaction with Illusion: Upon Mega Evolving, Zoroark's Illusion will stay intact until it is switched out. Its mega's ability will not activate until its Illusion ends. Proposed Mega: Mega Stone: Zorolite Type: DarkPossible Ability: Moxie, Dark Aura, Defeatist, Custom Stats: 60/135/70/155/80/115

I am very happy that the staff decided to nominate Luxray for a mega evolution, because as can be seen from my profile picture, Mega Luxray is something I have wanted ever since the original mega competition. Luxray as we know it has great abilities and decent bulk and a great offensive prescence, however its speed has rendered it unable to do well competetively. In my opinion this needs to be fixed because no wolf, especially not the electric one, should be slow.
Proposed Mega:
Mega Stone: Luxrite Abilities: Intimidate, Guts, and adding Moxie to give it a more competetive edge. Stat Changes: Original- HP 80/ Attack 120/ Defense 79/ Sp. Attack 95/ Sp. Def 79/ Speed 70 BST= 523 New- HP 80/ Attack 140/ Defense 94/ Sp. Attack 105/ Sp. Def 89/ Speed 105 BST= 623
Adding a Dark typing to Luxray would give it a much needed STAB boost to Crunch and it could increase movepool to new moves such as Pursuit, Feint Attack, maybe Knock Off, and Foul Play.
Also with this new typing, Luxray would gain 1 type immunity (Psychic), 2 type resistances (Dark and Ghost) and 3 type weaknesses (Bug, Fighting, and Fairy).

Beheeyem's been one of my favorite Pokemon ever since "rediscovering" him playing through Gen 5 again. Currently, Beheeyem resides solidly in PU, with little chance of moving up in the near future. Beheeyem is notable for having almost no niche that Reuniclus doesn't fill better... sadly. However, with a Mega Evolution, I believe Beheeyem can be transformed from a mostly-forgotten Pokemon into a huge, threatening wallbreaker and TR sweeper. Adding Dark typing to Beheeyem gives it another much-needed STAB in Dark Pulse and gives it the defensive boost it needs to stay alive long enough to throw down a Trick Room. This design focuses on the "Men in Black" theme.
Mega Beheeyem - Beheeyite Old stats: 75/75/75/125/95/40 Proposed Stats: 75/75/115/175/125/20 New Typing: Psychic/Dark New Ability: Overcoat (Possibly Analytic. Overcoat makes sense from a design perspective, but Analytic makes more sense from a power perspective.) Design: Beheeyem's "Trench coat" elongates, nearly touching the ground. It's still floating and his legs are now not visible underneath the trench coat. Its arms grow longer and the colored orbs grow into fingers. The three colored orbs on its hands also now float behind its head in a triangle pattern. The top of its head branches out, forming a sort of brim to a hat. Its face remains largely the same; its eyes are under the shadow of the brim of his tall "hat". As a whole, Beheeyem's color scheme gets a bit darker, except for the colored orbs and fingers. Its shiny version changes the order of the colored orbs, turns its eyes blue, and makes it near completely black, with the "Circuit" designs on its hat glowing white.
Beheeyem @ Beheeyite Ability: Analytic EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD Quiet Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Psychic - Dark Pulse - Nasty Plot/Recover - Trick Room

Mega HelioliskI suggested Heliolisk for a mega evolution because it has a lot of potential as a mega. Kalos only has Mega Diancie as a mega so adding Heliolisk would balance things out. Heliolisk like other electric types compete with each other for the repetitive role of an offensive pivot and Heliolisk doesn't offer much on the table especially with a free weakness in fighting. Mega Heliolisk could go about in different ways. It could go either Dragon, Dark, or stay a Normal Type. If it goes dragon then it add's a bunch of resistances and a good offensive presence, it already gets dragon pulse and dragon tail so no move additions would be needed the same goes for Dark typing as it already has Dark Pulse. Electric/Dragon is the same typing as Mega Ampharos but honestly they differ in a lot of ways, primarily in speed. Electric/Dark would be a completely new typing that would give it an advantage of use over other darks or electrics. Regenerator would grant it's longevity in battle and Technician would power up it's moves, mainly Parabolic Charge turning it into an electric giga drain. If it stays Electric/Normal, it'll kind of just be the same to be honest but it's improved stats will grant it's use over Pokemon like Raikou. Proposed Mega: Mega Stone: Heliolite Type: Electric/Dragon or Normal or Dark Possible Ability: Regenerator, Technician, Custom Original Stats: 62/55/52/109/94/109 BST: 481 Mega Stats: 62/65/70/138/108/138 BST: 581

chundermunch the main problem with Luxray was that it had a higher Attack stat than Sp. Atk, and the only decent physical STAB move it has is Wild Charge, but that has recoil damage. Maybe keep the attack the same and focus a bit more on Sp. Atk? Or do you have something else planned for it?

@megahop I feel like a focus on Special Attack would make it too much like Mega-Manectric. The issue with the only good phsyical STAB being Wild Charge is addressed with the added Dark type. As I said we could add to its movepool when the new typing is added

I support Farfetch'd and Luxray for the mega.
Mega Farfetch'd:
Type: Normal/Flying
Ability: Huge Power Super Luck
Old Stats: 52/65/55/58/60/62 New Stats: 52/90/85/38/85/102
Mega Farfetch'd is still crap, why am I even trying?
Mega Luxray: Type: Electric/Dark Ability: Strong Jaw
Old Stats: 80/120/79/95/79/70 New Stats: 80/140/99/105/99/100
Luxray would not benefit from having Moxie as it lacks good priority. Instead, Luxray needs raw power right off the bat. That's where Strong Jaw comes in, making its STAB Thunder Fang usable and its Crunch a devastating attack.
I'd also like to add one more potential Pokémon to the list: Flygon. It was confirmed that Flygon is not getting a Mega in Sun and Moon and the reason behind Flygon not getting a Mega in ORAS was "artist block". Why not do some fan service that TrollFreak doesn't seem to want to do? There are a lot of directions that we can take a Mega Flygon, and players would greatly appreciate seeing it in the game.

Wow I wasn't aware this project was still alive I'm surprised no one has said anything about Mega Scrafty despite it being in the initial slate in the OP. In my opinion, there are two directions Mega Scrafty could go in: the first is a fast-ish version where Mega Scrafty finally gets a belt for its pants, and the second is a bulkier version which might be more expected of Scrafty, idk. Competitively, Scrafty would be a pretty good Mega choice since it does get that pre-Mega Intimidate, but I'll leave that aside for now. Mega Scrafty 1: Fighting / DarkOriginal stats: 65/90/115/45/115/58 New stats: 65/110/125/55/125/108 (+0/+20/+10/+10/+10/+50) Abilities: Reckless, Moxie, Hustle ( ), Guts Finally able to make better use of Dragon Dance, Scrafty has the potential to become a decent set-up sweeper, especially with either Reckless to boost HJK and Head Smash or Moxie to keep momentum going after a KO. Hustle is kind of a flavour ability but probably renders Scrafty useless, whereas Guts could prevent Scrafty's sweep from being stopped by an untimely burn. Coupled with the pseudo-bulk afforded by Intimidate from a base form Scrafty, perhaps fast Scrafty is the future? *-* Mega Scrafty 2: Fighting / DarkOriginal stats: 65/90/115/45/115/58 New stats: 65/120/145/55/145/58 (+0/+30/+30/+10/+30/+0) Abilities: Guts, Soundproof, Shed Skin, Rough Skin This, on the other hand, is probably what one might expect more from a Mega Scrafty. Guts ensures that it can't really be crippled by status as badly, while Soundproof gives it a shot at facing up against Sylveon or Mega Gardevoir that it might not otherwise have; alternatively, Shed Skin lets it play Rest sets more freely, or it can upgrade to some Rough Skin to make physical attackers think twice before touching it. Either way, its increased bulk affords it the ability to set up some Bulk Ups, perhaps with the same moveset of Bulk Up / Rest / Drain Punch / Crunch that you might see on regular Scrafty?

It is still alive, but progress has greatly slowed. @level 51 , you present some interesting ideas, but why would Scrafty have Rough Skin?
